about us
Our Mission
The mission of Gandhitva is to make the life, ideas, writings, and living legacy of Mahatma Gandhi more accessible, more organized, and more meaningful for the public.
We seek to build a platform where people can learn freely, read with context, reflect more deeply, connect with Gandhi-inspired work, and participate in a community shaped by sincerity, service, and ethical concern.
At its heart, Gandhitva is guided by a simple intention: to help ensure that Gandhi is not approached only as a figure of the past, but also as a source of thought, conscience, and constructive engagement in the present.
What Gandhitva is not
Gandhitva is not being built as a commercial brand, a shallow tribute page, or a collection of disconnected quotations. It is not intended to reduce Gandhi to slogans, nor to present him without depth, difficulty, or context.
Instead, the platform seeks to remain thoughtful, open, and grounded. It aims to offer public value — through learning, resource-building, community connection, and sincere engagement with Gandhi’s life and message.
What you can do here
Through Gandhitva, visitors will be able to explore Gandhi’s biography, follow key moments in his life, study major ideas and themes, read organized resource material, discover myth-busting and contextual content, connect with relevant organizations, and stay informed about upcoming initiatives and public events.
They will also be invited to become part of a wider community — by joining as members, subscribing for updates, volunteering their time, or contributing to a shared effort aimed at keeping Gandhi’s legacy accessible and alive.
A place where Gandhi-inspired work can also be discovered
Across India and beyond, there are many organizations, trusts, institutions, educational efforts, and service-oriented initiatives that continue to reflect values associated with Gandhi. Some work in peace-building. Some in education. Some in self-reliance, social reform, ethics, rural life, dialogue, or public service.
Gandhitva hopes to help bring greater visibility to such efforts by creating a space where they can be discovered more easily, connected more meaningfully, and appreciated as part of a wider living legacy.
